Who We Are
I am David J Farr and for 23 years was president of WFO and for many years before and since that service been involved with WFO efforts. I was told in my patriarchal blessing that my ancestors were anxiously looking towards me to do their temple work and as I did it I would become a Savior on Mt. Zion. So I continue to work at it sending you emails, raising money for research and encouraging Tim Farr to continue his Farr research.
I also continue to work with Douglas Farr Higham our VP of Legal affairs to keep our tax exempt status current and to advise me on our website. His brother Merrill Farr Higham CPA handles our financial affairs and receives mail in donations to put in our WFO Wells Fargo Account.
We have had wonderful contributions by family members like Marcia Nelson who wrote a book on Aaron Farr and did much research on his line. Also Duane Manscill who headed up the Winslow Farr Jr. line encouraging a book about him written by Wilma Smith. Duane also raised money for refurbishing headstones in the Ogden Cemetery for his line. There are many other family members who have contributed to WFO goals to numerous to name but so appreciated.
Tim Farr (who we continue to pay $400 a month to) was inspired as a young man to do research for our Farr family. He is very competent and been the means to get us over the ocean thru a DNA project resulting over the years to do several thousand ordinances. (shall we say 50,000 and counting,) Tim Farr was trained and assisted by our cousin David Rencher, the Church’s Chief Genealogical officer.
Tim also worked for my mother’s line the Jackson Flint Organization (JFO) where thru his efforts and Cindy Treu their full-time researcher has done well over 50,000 ordinances. I have always believed in the power of organizing as a family to get more research and temple work done than one person could possibly do.
There have been some experiences that have indicated families are organized in the spirit world doing missionary work and record gathering important to the Lord’s overall plan of salvation. To check out two stories that always motivated me about this fact under the Tab Research-Stories read the James Le Sueur (link) and Jedidiah Grant (link) Experiences.
Winslow Farr Monument
The Winslow Farr Monument was dedicated August 1, 2003 with Elder Richard G. Scott, our in-law. David Farr is pictured with him dedicating the monument at the request of Elder Scott. David Rencher and Joe Reimann worked very hard getting this monument installed. Under David Rencher's direction, WFO raised $7, 376 to refurbish the existing monument.
Diantha Farr Clayton Monument
A monument was put up by the Farr family for Diantha Farr Clayton when the family learned that she had been buried in a paupers grave. She is honored along with other family members by the Winslow Farr Sr. monument. Jolyn Raleigh worked with Duane Manscill and WFO and raised $2,000 to erect this monument. Duane dedicated it August 12, 2014 with both Farr and Clayton family members in attendance.
